The Problem

A critical route in the application intermittently failed to render when accessed in a fresh browser session (such as incognito mode or after clearing cache). Users were presented with a loading spinner overlay that never dismissed, effectively blocking all interaction.

The issue was difficult to reproduce consistently in normal sessions due to cached data and existing authentication state, making it appear intermittent and environment-specific.

What I Did

  • Refactored the asynchronous handling to guarantee loader cleanup regardless of success or failure. Introduced the RxJS `finalize` operator to ensure the loader was always dismissed when the observable terminated, eliminating reliance on the `complete` callback alone. Additionally, removed redundant loader triggers from lifecycle hooks to prevent overlapping or conflicting UI states. Error handling was preserved to maintain proper routing and user feedback.
